As a college student it is almost a must to be able to present an oral presentation. No matter what your major is, most probabaly it requires the ability to do a nearly perfect representaion. Especially in high school, students try to do everything to avoid making a speech or an oral presentation. I can still remember my first speech back in grade 5 which went terribly wrong. Though i was far from being a shy student, i was so nervous on the day of my speech that i could not eat that morning. I was so quiet in school that my friends thought that i was maybe sick. Anyway somehow i managed to finish my speech which was from my point a view a disaster as a i mentioned before. From my own experience, i believe most students feel uncomfortable doing a speech or a presentation because they simply lack the methods of preparing and delivering an effective oral presentation. Here are some examples of what you should do before, during and after an oral presentation. Before you do a presentation,you should make a really good preparation. Most students who do bad are the ones who are unprepared. First of all make sure you understand the actual topic because only then you are able to present your work well. Then oraganize your ideas logically and systematically. A good idea is to prepare some helpful notecards. Once you have finished with your preparation, present your work to your friends or to your family to see their reaction. Try to improve whatever they criticize. On the day of your presentation, make sure you look good and feel comfortable. Arrive in class before the audience, as you have to check the tools and equipment that you are going to use. The most important part is the actual presentation. However once you well prepared you should not be too worried about presenting. There are only a few details you should be aware of . The number one rule is to speak loud and clear all the time, because if your audience is having a hard time understanding you, then they will simply not pay attention. Also do not stare at the floor or at your notes. Try to look at the audience, and try to make eye contact as much as possible. Another point is not to let your presentation get boring. A good way to prevent this is to let your audience take part in the presentation. Late in my high school years i had a presentation which involved a quizz and a competition and my whole class paricipated in it, even my teacher. Lastly remember your audience does not know about your preparations or your notecards, so if you are stuck or forgot a point, just move on and do not let your audience notice it. Finally if you are finished with your topic, do not just leave. It is always good to sum up your presebtation incase your audience missed some points. Then also be prepared to answer some questions or to go through several points again. Only if there are no more questions asked, can you start to pack your things. Do not forget before you leave to thank your audience. Soon or later you will be asked to do an oral presentation, whether it is in high school, college or at your job. Even though it seens like a hard task in the beginning, once you know the methods and techniqes, you will notice it is actually not that hard. Those around him do not see him even though he has done everything he could to please them. He has no identity. Thus, the only way for him to gain his own identity is to stop obeying what society says and becoming what society want him to becom e. As he realizes that what the world around him has made him is not who he wants to be the narrator discovers himself. This once again connects back to the author’s meaning of not losing one’s self to society. Ralph Ellison’s, Invisible Man, effectively exemplifies a Bildungsroman. It does this by containing a character that undergoes a discovery, one that explicates his â€Å"coming of age,† which is incited when he burns all of the papers in his briefcase that identify him. In some accounts of California’s history, the state’s native people were pastoral pacifists who led an idyllic communal existence before the arrival of the Spanish. This view of history suggests that the native population meekly submitted to the missionaries; active resistance (or at least, violent resistance) was a trait learned from the Spanish over several generations of contact. This misreading of history, perhaps motivated by the ideology of the teller, may have at its root the fact that resistance to the Spanish occupation was not, at first, organized resistance. Unlike native groupings on the American East Coast or in central Mexico, the aboriginal population of California did not politically organize themselves into tribes or â€Å"nations† that spanned multiple settlements. The â€Å"tribal† names assigned to California’s native groups result from modern ethnological investigation rather than being something recognized by the natives themselves. For the most part, these modern names represent linguistic groups, along with reconstructed village names or other geographic names. For instance, the Shasta people are named for the mountain, rather than the mountain being named for the â€Å"tribe.† The mountain itself gets its name from the trapper Peter Skene Ogden, who called a southern Oregon summit â€Å"Sastise† in honor of a native guide. In 1841, the United States Exploring Expedition mistakenly applied the name to the California volcano. Despite their lack of a cohesive political structure, some of California’s native people actively resisted the imposition of the mission system from the start. The first uprising occurred only six years after the founding of the first mission at San Diego. HIST 1301 April 13, 2013 Summary of Interview with Sarah Garner Mrs. Sarah was a slave in Westmoreland County, and conducted an interview with Archibald Hill. She describes that she did not have an overseer for her labor, in which he expected them to do good work. If they didn’t complete the work, he was at liberty to whip them. She also describes her first time getting whipped as very unpleasant when she didn’t know how to do the labor. Garner was born in Tennessee and her mother, Jula, was born in Virginia. Garner’s husband, Theodore, was born in Blackground, and married him when she was eighteen.Her master bought him and his mother when he was 8 years old. Garner also had two brothers. Next, she describes planting the farm as a child. She’d have to pick it off wit her feet. They had plows so all the work wasn’t done by hand. She explains that she could do as much work as any man could handle. You had to stake the land crossways and plow the open rows. The master had one plow but was having more made at the shops. They made the plows by hand. She was never a house person, which her mother was. She thought of herself as a farmer. She could do any gung; milked cows and hauled flowers.She never had to cook, iron, clean, or wash for the white people. She worked from the day she was born until the day she left. Her mother raised her to be strong. Garner worked outside while her mother stayed inside doing housework. Garner never talked about being able to read and write. Her mother cooked them all meals after the white family ate. At night her mother taught life lessons to all of her siblings. Her father usually worked from early mornings to late at night. On of the main reasons masters didn’t want their slaves to become Christians involved the Bible.This was one reason why most plantation owners did what they could to stop their slaves from learning to read. In the South, black people were not usually allowed to attend chu rch services. Black people in the North were more likely to attend church services. Drums, which were used in traditional religious ceremonies, where banned because overseers worried that they would be used to send messages. Garner raised 12 children. When her son got old enough to care for himself, she moved away. She had three sons. When her son died, she came back here.Her 12 children including her daughters all grew up to go elsewhere. Most of them went North. Some went to Philadelphia, New York or Virginia. Her youngest son died shortly after he was married. She believed that they were in God’s hands, and did what God wanted. They all went their own separate ways when the got old enough. They come back to see family sometimes. Garner becomes excited when asked about life up North, until she sees the labor involved, and she thinks about the work she used to do at home. She lived a healthy life and she enjoys being free.

For example, if students have a greater sense of confidence, then they will feel more motivated to complete academic-related tasks with a stronger overall performance. Self-efficacy is often referred to as a strong predictor of higher GPAs among college students which supported by Brown et al., 1989, Hackett et al., 1992, Landy et al., 1991, Miche et al., 2001. An earlier study by Sandler (2000a) suggested self-efficacy as a stronger predictor of student intentions to stay in school than stress because it has a more positive impact on academic performance. Our PWC1010 lecture, had requested this report in 20th November 2018 and we start our research at the 2nd week after our topic was approved by our lecture. We need to submit this report in week 14 of trimester 2, 2018 2019 session. Our group is formed by 5 people, which is Chong Feng Bin (1151105476), Seek Chang Yuan (1151105385), Mohamad Syafiq Bin Nasaruddin (1161102250), Nur Afrina Binti Che Azhar (1161101877) and Sim Shan Chuan (1151100486). Purpose The purpose of this report is: to determine the habit of arranging time among student in MMU identity the impact of the time management to the student in academic performance to train the habit of time management to the student in MMU Scope The study aims to determine the comparison to academic achievement among students in Multimedia University Malacca (MMU). The sample of population that are chosen for this study are the Multimedia University Malaccars engineering students, male and female of all races such as Malay, Chinese, Indian and other races. There are more male students than female students that participate in this research because of the number of the male that enrolled in engineering course is larger than the female. The reason is also applied to why the number of Chinese student is more than the other races in this study. The study will takes place in Multimedia University Malacca due to the main purpose of this study is focusing among engineering student in Multimedia University Malacca. The collection of data that are required for this research will be starting from week 5 until week 6. Method The method of data collection that we will be using in this research is survey method. We will be preparing the self- admistered survey questionnaires for our primary data collection. This survey will be carried out in MMU Malacca and we will randomly pick 50 engineering student to help us to complete the questionnaire. Every races will be helping us to complete the survey because we need to know the habit of time management among between different personality, different background etc. The questionnaire will be distribute around FET building in the data collection week. Our group have five member, so each of us will have 10 sheets of questionnaire forms. The forms will be conduct face to face to the person who is doing the survey. This is because we need to confirm our questionnaire could be collect and analyze immediately. Besides that, we will used some of the ideas and information from journals, scientific article to prepare our survey question.
